Geo structures
Overview
In buildings, which need
foundation-stakes, it is possible to equip the stakes with heat
exchangers. Thereby they will become energetic geo-structure and give the
possibility to supply the building with heat in winter and with cold in
summer time.
Warmth and cold under the building
Geostructures
are constructions in the ground or in contact with it. Mainly they are
stakes, walls and ground plates, which are needed, in order to achieve a
sufficient load-carrying capacity and stability of the underground. Geo
structures are mostly made of concrete, manufactured with or without
reinforcing.
The heat conductivity and the storage capacity of the concrete make it
an ideal material for the absorption of warmth. Besides the ground
temperature in some meters depth (15-20 m) is constant (9 - 11° C in the
local climate). This temperature level can be used in the summer for
cooling and in the winter for heating.
The geo structures needed in order to support and establish the basis
of a building can be equipped with heat exchangers of any magnitude. The
concrete-stakes and -walls, standing in contact with the underground, are
being equipped with plastic pipes in order to provide a proper warmth or
cold exchange with the underground. These pipes are supplied bundled to
one or several heat pumps.
The impact of the plant is based on a yearly cycle, with which during
the heating season, warmth is withdrawed from the underground (cold
feedback into the underground) and during the cooling period cold is
withdrawed from the underground (heat feedback into the underground). The
installed thermal output varies between some KW up to 1 ' 000 KW.
The advantages of this kind of plants express themselves in the reduced
operating cost and the omission of fossil fuels (approx. 80%) and in a
reduction of the CO2-Emission (45% to 100%).
